ABC SubComm Welcome Day!
OK this is like soo lagg to be blogging about, but I guess! It's a blessing to have time to finally sit down, have a cuppa and bloggggg!! (Not doing projectsssss, that is.)
So yayy, this was the long-awaited ABC SubComm Welcome Day last Wednesday, held in our newly-launched NBS Student Lounge, located at the farrrr end of Block S4, away from the hustle and bustle of the mainstream activities, or so I tagged it in sucha polite way. (The rest called it 'damn ulu lah, this place!') Look, our ABC family is soooo much bigger and cosy now! (OK yes, messy too!) (FYI: ABC stands for Accountancy & Business Club; it's Nbs faculty club orhkay! DOn't play play...)
My Social Sec partner CH called in the caterer and I managed the programme side. I think on my part, things felt like a disaster! Not like those disastrous disasters you see on CNN news but more like a personal disaster on my part. Maybe I didn't channel in 100% effort, that's why! Not that anything went severly wrong...just that (again) Texas Hold'em didn't manage to permeate into everyone's bones (ok what the hell am I writing, too longg neve bloggg ahhh)... I 'arrowed' two of my most enthusiastic Subcommers Mel & Raye to teach everyone this, coz my main intention is to familiarise everyone with this game...then my Texas Hold'em Competition under NBS week for next year can hopefully get more participants! HOpefully, lah...~! BUt towads the end, things got slightly chaotic and most subcommers, or should I say, all subcommers didn't manage to learn. Coz I scheduled this portion for the last hour out of the 2-hr slot I am given to work with. HJ, my vp looking after the social portfolio, wanted phototaking to be the priority so ... I had to give in to him lor....what to do when you aren't THe Old Bird. (Will risk insubordination and get charged nowadays lol) In any case, what matters most is really, pple get good food (in the name of Mr Wong's wisdom - 'Lay Ling, food is important you see.') and have some good fun before all the semestral papers start rolling in.
